Matt is Head of Local Highways Maintenance, Innovation, and Resilience at the Department for Transport. Having joined the DfT in 2015, he is the lead on many policies concerning the local road network, ultimately focusing on and promoting effective highways asset management and resilience. In addition, he has worked for a succession of Transport Ministers as a Private Secretary, and led on aspects of connected and automated vehicle policy and domestic regulation within the DfT’s Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV).
