Renee Van Baar

Renee van Baar is a principal Transport Planner at Midlands Connect – the subnational transport body for the Midlands. Her key focus is on the Carbon Assessment Playbook and the Midlands Carbon Baseline Tool, and supporting our partners on decarbonisation and rural mobility. She project managed the development of the first STB carbon baseline tool and the evidence collation stage of the Carbon Assessment Playbook. As a transport planner with 10 years’ experience and a rural resident herself, she has a keen interest in reducing carbon emissions from transport while maximising the role of good transport in creating opportunities for all.
