Carol Valentine
Carol is an experienced local government manager working for Kent County Council, with a background in change management, diversity, economic development, and highways. Carol is currently working in the Highways and Transportation Department and has experience in a range of highways operational delivery activities including winter service, maintenance and drainage Carol has led on digital, technology and innovation for KCC Highways and the Growth and Environment directorate at the Council.
Carol is the current chair of the National Winter Research Group and has over 10 years operational experience as the lead officer for winter at KCC. She has been the NWSRG lead on communications, and also contributed to the development of the Best Practice guidance. Carol is keen to see the continued development of winter service across the UK and will continue to work with the NWSRG and partners to ensure that research beneficial to the industry is carried out.
