As Head of New Technologies, Bharat is leading the technology and innovation program at Midlands Connect. Midlands Connect is a Sub National Transport Body in Midlands.

Bharat role includes developing and delivering strategies across a broad portfolio of transport technologies in Midlands. This includes but not limited to development of business cases and funding asks to DfT/HM Treasury, development of region/nationwide multi modal contactless ticketing technical solution, Mobility as a Service, major road network technology, Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure, alternative fuel technologies, identifying technology gaps, creating technology route maps/actions plans over the next 30 years and Future of Mobility.
