Lilian Greenwood

Lilian has been passionate about Transport issues since she was first appointed to the Transport Select Committee following her election in 2010. Since then, she has held the roles of Shadow Local Transport Minister, Shadow Rail Minister, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, and Chair of the Transport Committee.

As Transport Committee Chair, Lilian was committed to ensuring that the needs of all transport users were addressed, particularly those whose voices are least heard by decision-makers.

Throughout her time in Parliament, Lilian has helped to secure £60 million of funding to refurbish Nottingham’s main train station, as well as successfully campaigning for the widening of the A453 and extensions to Nottingham’s tram network.

Following Labour’s victory in the 2024 General Election, Lilian is now Minister for the Future of Roads.
